Wildlife Crossing Structures

Keeping Habitats Connected

Adapting our existing infrastructure is essential to safeguarding the future of wildlife and their habitats. By addressing the challenges created by roads, urban development, and human expansion, we help ensure that natural ecosystems continue to thrive alongside our communities. We are committed to protecting natural corridors and reducing habitat fragmentation through sustainable design and implementation.

To regain and maintain habitat connectivity across the world, we design, develop, and supply a wide range of innovative solutions while supporting the implementation of wildlife crossing structures. Our team of biologists and engineers collaborate to deliver tailored approaches for any project and target species, from overpasses and underpasses to bridges, green urbanism, and beyond.

Arboreal Bridge

In association with People’s Trust for Endangered Species we have developed a modular truss system designed to keep habitats connected.

This scientifically tested, cost effective mitigation solution for maintaining and enhancing habitat connectivity is widely used on development and infrastructure projects.

As part of this product’s development, we have worked closely with transport agencies to ensure the safety and quality of design so it can be applied on a wide variety of projects.

The modular and adaptable design allows it to be built free standing, or retrospectively fitted to other structures such as an overpass.

Habitat Highway

The Animex Habitat Highway instantly transforms urban infrastructure and provides vital habitat connectivity for wildlife.

This modular system has been designed to be adaptable and easily deployable to add greenery to any urban structure.

With a built in self-irrigation system it is made from recycled materials the system is supplied full of established native plants designed to merge with local habitats, soil types and species.

This innovative ecological solution contributes towards defragmentation, carbon capture and biodiversity net gain calculations at a fraction of the cost of building new green bridges.

Green Bridges & Crossing Structures

With our extensive knowledge of biological and engineering needs our team can help design large and small-scale wildlife crossings to suit the needs of any project.

Whether it is to direct large herds of migrating mammals over a highway that dissects a national park or provide passage for turtles on a local road through a wetland, we can help.

Mammal Shelves & Ledges

We have a range of pre-fabricated and custom-made shelves and ledges to aid the movement of mammals under roads and railways.

These features can be retrofitted to existing structures or included within the design of new schemes to enhance wildlife connectivity for terrestrial mammals.
